On A Stick: House Sparrow

November 21, 2014  •  15 Comments

Believe it or not, it's been difficult catching a male House Sparrow on my dead branch. They seem to be a bit more wary than the females. I've already featured a female for my project so this completes the pair.

A bird I would have said was "boring" but I don't have those here and he is really lovely!

Growing up, we had an Audubon book of bird illustrations. Although this is a photo, it's reminiscent of what I would've seen in that book. Beautiful detail -- great work!

He looks quite regal, Brian. It's a wonderful portrait; I'm so glad he decided to join your project!
