On A Stick: Carolina Chickadee

January 02, 2016  •  15 Comments

These little buggers may be small, but they're noisy. This one takes a wide stance on the studio branch for my ongoing stick project. The Mr. and Mrs. take turns hitting the safflower stockpile in "grab and run" fashion. Because of their nervous energy I rarely have more than a couple of seconds to get a shot.

I love these birds, they are so cute.

I would rather listen to the noise of a few birds than the construction trucks here by my house.

Great capture and they definitely seem to have much darker caps than ours do here.
