Stunned
This junco flew into the patio door stunning itself for a bit. I took it out to the yard and it disappeared after resting for fifteen or twenty minutes.

I've sure had those dreaded moments when I hear that bump against a window and rush to look out to see if the bird flew away. I've helped a few stunned ones over the years and most do fly away, but I've also had to bury many more. I buy those window clings for two of our windows that get the most strikes and they seem to help some. I love these images and especially the second closeup one. Such sweet birds these Juncos are.
