Goldfinch - It's What's For Dinner

March 22, 2021  •  5 Comments

I noticed a flurry of activity (feathers) at the edge of the woods and saw this American Kestrel snag a goldfinch. I wish I could have moved closer, but there was no way to do it without spooking the Kestrel. As it was, it didn't stay long before flying off with its dinner.

Beautiful markings, but observing nature's "food chain" in action is sad !

Sorry for the Goldfinch, but Kestrels have to eat, too!
I once saw a Bald Eagle eating a Hawk.
Hope you are having a great week!
